Manufacturer’s initial calibration: Feige FILLING is No. 1 in Europe for the assessment of the conformity of weigh scales

In addition to their existing certification for the assessment of the conformity of non-automatic weighing instruments and automatic gravimetric filling instruments, Feige FILLING was certified in October 2015 for the assessment of automatic checkweighers!

Now, FEIGE is permitted to carry out their own factory calibration for their entire weigh scale portfolio. This makes Feige FILLING the No. 1 in Europe.

Automatic checkweighers are used if the packaging is subject to the Pre-Packaging Directive. Currently, this only concerns packages of max. 10 kg or 10 l.

Already since September 2010, specifically trained FEIGE technicians have been certified to assess the conformity of non-automatic weighing instruments and automatic gravimetric filling instruments.

This is based on the Measuring Instruments Directive, which allows the manufacturer of weigh scales to carry out this assessment at initial commissioning of a measuring instrument if the company has an appropriately certified quality management system (QMS) in place.

Since 2010, FEIGE carried out more than 120 conformity assessments across Europe*. This number is increasing because many customers have stopped using the old calibration regulations, though still valid until the end of the transition phase in October 2016.
