Liquids into plastic bags – the demand is increasing

The fully automatic filling machine unites the technologies of FEIGE and HAVER & BOECKER. Bag manufacture and bag handling are undertaken by the tried and tested FFS automatic machines from our Oelder mother company and the joint collaboration has yielded a harmonious and well-coordinated filling process.

This automatic filling equipment facilitates the filling of pasty products into plastic bags by means of a filling valve in an output range of up to 640 bags / hour (25 kg each).

Bag filling is controlled via the scale software, which controls the filling valve's degree of opening. To this end, the weight value is continuously measured and differentiated during filling (FEIGE product flow control). Using these parameters, a control algorithm provides for an accurate filling weight, while optimising the time expended for the filling process.

After the filling process, the remaining air in the bag is sucked off and the bag is closed to reduce the product's contact with the ambient air to a minimum.

The advantages are obvious

The result: highest filling output and optimum accuracy of weight. The LIFFS revolutionises the fully automatic filling of pasty and liquid products and offers important advantages.

Thanks to the integrated design, the equipment can be put into operation with very little set-up effort. The only things to be made available for a speedy application of the fully automatic equipment are the product feed and product return lines as well as the compressed air and electrical connections.

So far the building industry is still mainly using pails to package for example ready mix plaster, paints, adhesives, etc. and to deliver them to the place of use. However, using bags clearly reduces the waste volume and in addition, bags can easily be disposed of by the user himself – an essential advantage.

High-quality products in an adequate packing that exhibits a superior printed design with gloss effect and is perhaps even equipped with a carrying handle increase customer acceptance and thus the market success of the product. Another ecological advantage – compared to an empty pail - is that a roll of empty bags is easier to transport from the packaging material manufacturer to the construction material manufacturer. The new empty bag in tubular form requires clearly less cargo volume. In addition, manufacturing a bag requires a lot less raw materials. From an economic point of view, this is reflected by the price, both for the filling company and the end user. The two leaders in technology, HAVER & BOECKER and FEIGE, are well aware of their responsibility towards the environment. They are setting new standards in environmental protection at reduced costs.
