‚FILLIP’: A TRICKY SUCCESS STORY
In the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, RSA-TALKE operates a large chemicals logistics centre, where dangerous liquid chemical substances are commissioned and made available for the end customer. The focus is on the greatest possible safety and efficiency – this is why the company has now invested in the fully automatic, completely encapsulated filling robot INTEGRA® 71.
A machine with many challenges
The special design is accurately tailored to the needs of the chemicals logistics partner – a particularly tricky project, because the configuration is significantly more comprehensive than on other machines of this type:
• Filling a wide range of chemicals, in particular aggressive or combustible ones, into different containers such as plastic and steel drums and IBC.
• Stainless steel design, specifically designed for the use in potentially explosive atmospheres, zone 1, ATEX design II 2G c IIB T3.
• Completely encapsulated machine with automatic lifting gates and an exhaust system for the safe handling of products releasing dangerous gases.
Assembly of the machine was accomplished together with our sister companies Sommer and HaverMiddleEast. Due to the pandemic, the deployment of our engineers was initially not possible – they had to support the ongoing work from Germany and exchanged information with their colleagues on site almost daily. As soon as travel was permitted again, one of our most experienced engineers jetted to Dubai to accompany the final assembly and commissioning on site.
For RSA-TALKE the investment has been worthwhile, since they are so far the first and only ones who offer this new technology in the region. The name given to the new filling robot is indicative of just how satisfied the company is with it: In Dubai it is lovingly called ‚Fillip’.
