Feige Filling is the FIRST and ONLY accredited company for manufaturer’s initial calibration
From the 4th quarter of 2010 Feige Filling’s own service technicians are able to carry out the manufacturer’s initial calibration for Feige weigh scales.
As from today, immediately after the machine’s test run, the CE-calibration of non-automatic scales and fully automatic scales of brand new Feige Filling machines and completed weigh scale refits can be done in a quick and uncomplicated way by specially trained accredited Feige Filling personnel!
The final customer has the advantage that no additional personnel have to attend the calibration and the arrangement and coordination with the local W & M authority (Standards Department) is avoided. This saves time and costs.
Feige Filling takes over the full responsibility for the organisation and performance of the CE-calibration.
At the same time there can be scheduled further services, as e.g. inspection, maintenance, training or installation of spare parts without incurring the costs of another visit.
The legal basis for the „manufacturer’s initial calibration“ is a specified „EC-calibration“ for non-automatic scales and fully automatic scales. The basis of the procedure for the initial circulation of scales in Europe are the EC-directives:
1. Directive 2009/23/CE, regulates the putting into circulation of „non-automatic scales(NSW)“.
The transition period has already expired since 2002.
2. Directive 2004/22/CE, regulates the putting into circulation „fully automatic scales (SWA). This directive is often designated as “MID”.
(MID = Measuring Instruments Directive)
The transition period for this directive ends in 2016!
By the resolution of the Council (93/456/EEC) the manufacturer himself can perform the CE-calibration as per “module D” for the initial circulation of the scales in Europe.
After the successful manufacturer’s initial calibration Feige will declare CE conformity and filling operation can start.

On the other hand, the customer is pleased with the high reliability and precision of his filling equipment. The revamping of a Feige machine to a new PLC, a new bus system and a visualisation system like for a customer in Ireland.
The aim of the customer was to harmonise the operation of all machines and to realise the data exchange to a supervisory system.
In the course of the revamping, the PLC of 3 filling equipment in hazardous area (one automatic drum filler and two pallet filling equipment) have been replaced by an Allen Bradley control. The software has been adjusted accordingly and redesigned for the visualisation.
And the existing bus system for the connection of sensors and actuators in the hazardous area has been replaced. The ET-515 by Stahl is the new operating and visualisation system combined with the Rockwell RS-View Software. This device enables the visualisation on a TFT flat screen in the hazardous area. The operation is done via alphanumeric keypad and trackball, also within the hazardous area.
The operator receives information on the status of the equipment, the status of the conveying system and the product lines as well as error and operating messages.
The operation of the equipment such as starting the automatic filling processes, controlling the conveying system and starting the cleaning process is done via visualisation system.
The customer’s supervisory system transmits enable signals and job data as well as instructions for the cleaning process, the filling equipment in return transmit filling data such as tolerance, fill weight linked with batch and job number.
This example reveals the capacity of the business sector “Equipment optimisation” of Feige Filling where the filling equipment is adjusted to ever new customer demands.
For example these demands can be new types of containers, increased nominal output or like shown in the above example a harmonisation of the MMI (man-machine interface).
This particular example of equipment optimisation is representative for the capacity and absolute customer orientation of all the other service sectors of Feige Filling.

Apart from the obligatory “GOST-R-(EX)-Certificate” for the import of technical devices to Russia and calibration approvals for weigh-scales "PATTERN APPROVAL OF METROLOGY" Feige has also available the user-permit "ROSTECHNADZOR" with the appropriate machine passport.
With this "sole island"-position of the series certification of filling machines Feige shows once again its unique market leadership in the field of filling technology.
In the past there were expensive single inspection approvals necessary, but now a universal and less complicated administrative process has simplified the approval protocol in Russia and this will considerably reduce time and expense.
